This Morning's Training Run

Earlier today got another decent training run in... Danie & Guy competed the McCarthy Toyota Half Marathon in Pretoria in a very comfortable and relaxed 1hr54min! Sun was out and they had a good training run - legs fine and feeling strong! There are so many more runners on the roads this year, must have something to do with the record entries for Comrades this year?

Background on the Fundraising Event

Three Members of Round Table Southern Africa will be running approximately 350 Miles4Marrow in March 2010, with the aim to raise in excess of ½ million Rand in aid of those suffering with Leukaemia.

Following a route starting in the Lowveld city of Nelspruit, the runners run in relay (and together on shorter days) and wind their way uphill and over the Mpumalanga Escarpment, through the Highveld, then pass through Pretoria and end on The Melrose Arch Piazza.

You may wonder why?

“Let’s suffer a bit and run an obscure distance along an obscure route... and hopefully this will encourage South Africans and others to support a wonderful cause like The Sunflower Fund and ultimately those who suffer from Leukaemia.” Guy Crichton, Round Tabler and 350 Miles4Marrow Runner
